10 New Year Predictions for 2011

I have this wonderful friend/mentor/amazing cook, named Barb.  You can (and should) find her at www.mysisterskitchenonline.com, cooking up homemade recipes with real food!

Barb never ceases to bless me with her perspective, gained by a life devoted to Jesus and raising four sons.  You heard that right… F.O.U.R. (4).  Anyway, she posted a neat perspective on the New Year on Facebook the other day, and I asked her if I could share it here.

New Year 2011The original author is Roy Lessin, co-founder of Dayspring.  The original 10 Positive (Certain) Predictions for the New Year are posted at Roy’s blog, and it’s exactly what I need to remember this year!

I chose the one promise that speaks to my heart for this year:

1.   He will still love you with an everlasting love. Jeremiah 31:3

The fact is, we don’t have to predict what God will do in 2011.  We can KNOW! And however these promises manifest in our lives, He is faithful to fulfill His word! I would have loved to post all 10 here, but in deference to Roy, go read them here . I’d love it if you would say in the comments which one speaks to your heart this year!

  1. This is a little off-topic, but do you have any idea if Barb used to live in Colorado Springs? I keep wondering if she’s the same Barb who used to be my neighbor back when we lived there… Random!

Oooo! She is! She is! After leaving this comment I thought, “Well, why not ask HER?” So I did. That’s hilarious. And awesome.

Yup, Megan’s right. She lived about a block away from me in the cutest Colorado Springs neighborhood. Several years ago Megan wrote a blog post that forever changed how I shop for OCC Shoeboxes and I knew I needed to meet her.

  2. 10. God will still be on the throne. Psalm 47:8

I need to get better at staying spiritually consistent and keeping God on the throne as opposed to letting Valerie sit on it occassionally 😉

  3. Those are awesome! I am printing them off, I need to remind myself of them every day.

    This one especially:
    8. His mercies will still be new every morning. Lamentations 3:22

I need to remember this, no matter how much I mess up and how much mommy guilt I have, his mercies are new every day. He will continue to help me grow in HIM and be closer to him.
