A Prayer for Women

Dear Lord Jesus,

I pray that your precious daughters will feel the extent of the love you have for each one of them.

“The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zeph 3:17

I pray that we will begin to see each other with your eyes, and through your love for us.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13:34

I pray that we will stop asking who is the greatest, and start asking who is the servant of all.

“The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts [herself] will be humbled, and whoever humbles [herself] will be exalted.” Matt 23: 11-12

I pray that we would be honest enough to follow your commands, when it comes to our relationships. Seek harmony, not to injure.

“If your [sister] sins against you, go and show [her the] fault, just between the two of you.” Matt 18: 15-16

And I pray that you would give us the ability, by Your Spirit, to forgive.

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my [sister] when [she] sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy times seven. Matt 18: 21-22

If we would seek to do these things, then truly people would say of us, ” By this all [women] will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (Jn 13:35) But Lord, I need your help. The spirit is wiling, but the flesh is weak.

Make sure you sign up. The chances are pretty high, because I think the fact that I threw in a $10.00 enfamil check to go w/the Bath & Body Works products a lot of people are coming to look at the giveaway but not signing up.

  2. I am sending this to, and praying it for , my twin 18 year old daughters as well, they are often each others worse enemies! Thank you!!

And therein lies the rub. Spirit and flesh. Mine war daily, and this day has been particularly bloody. But it is on days like this…days when life gets really hard…that I know my Father’s Spirit in richer and fuller measure. So while I hate the stuggle, I love the Comforter who enters into my struggle to give me his Peace.

Oh to get to my perfection! One day…

    Come Lord Jesus,

  4. This is truly beautiful! I must remember it when it comes to thinking of many of the women in my life. Why is it that we have such a natural need to tear each other down?

  5. Sarah,
This is beautiful! I just finished Beth Moore’s study, Believing God and she teaches about praying scriputres. The scriptures you chose are so appropriate, and specific to some things I’ve been going through here lately. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your heart!

  9. Iam looking for answers for my two daughters and what do I see but a prayer that says just that. I was wowed. My two daughters hate me because i kicked one out of my home for being pushie. more then that but I can’t spell well. The other has gotten on the side of the daughter I kicked out. Thay have tried to make me say Iam sorry. And I did but I told them Iam not sorry for kicking her out. They want me to say sorry and admit my lies and take reponseabilty for my actons. When I really feel I did othing wrong. I was just not going to put with her pushing me around in my own home. Iam not a liar and iam not sorry for sticking up for my self. Why do they feel they are right and Iam wrong. i don’t understand. sick to my stomach!!!!!!!
