Dear Lord Jesus,
I pray that your precious daughters will feel the extent of the love you have for each one of them.
“The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zeph 3:17
I pray that we will begin to see each other with your eyes, and through your love for us.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13:34
I pray that we will stop asking who is the greatest, and start asking who is the servant of all.
“The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts [herself] will be humbled, and whoever humbles [herself] will be exalted.” Matt 23: 11-12
I pray that we would be honest enough to follow your commands, when it comes to our relationships. Seek harmony, not to injure.
“If your [sister] sins against you, go and show [her the] fault, just between the two of you.” Matt 18: 15-16
And I pray that you would give us the ability, by Your Spirit, to forgive.
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my [sister] when [she] sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy times seven. Matt 18: 21-22
If we would seek to do these things, then truly people would say of us, ” By this all [women] will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (Jn 13:35) But Lord, I need your help. The spirit is wiling, but the flesh is weak.
