Cleaning Out the Junk Laundry Room

This is my very first Tackle-It-Tuesday!! I’ve always wanted to participate, but I haven’t been able to get my act together to tackle anything, while taking pictures and blogging about it! So here we are at my first project:
One of the reasons we chose this floor plan was the laundry room/ pantry/ craft closet, right off the kitchen. It has been quickly deteriorating into Junk Room now for a while! I finally got fed up. My stomach turned every time I tried to do laundry, or get dinner ready, or put away the kids’ art supplies. It was time for an intervention!
So here’s what it looked like totally cleaned out.
Then, here’s what my kitchen looked like:
Is she taunting me? I think I heard her tapping her helmet, saying (with a French accent), “You silly mama! If you think you can really organize this room, I will taunt you a second time!” Then my two year-old said, “Ni!”
Anyway, it was all worth it. The finished product is a place where I can sort laundry, store my craft supplies, and actually get into the freezer without having to pry it open past all the junk!
Now, let’s see how long it can stay like that!

Wow…those photos are great. I love when I’m able to take a cluttered area and turn it into a beautiful livable area. Great job. For me, summers are definately for cleaning and organizing.

Envy is evil, I know . . . but I envy all your cabinet space! Maybe I’ll add that to my ‘BooMama Before and After List’!

Excellent job!!! It feels so nice when it’s done, doesn’t it? I am trying to do this in several rooms. We want to try and get our home as clean and organized as possible before we leave on a trip in 2 weeks. It would be so nice to come home to a clean house!!
