Easy Christmas Homemade Treats

If you’re anything like me, this holiday season is jam packed and busy! My whole family performs in The Nutcracker Ballet every year so rehearsals take up lots of time!

If you need to make some impressive treats in a little time, have I got the treats for you! Basically, get a bunch of stuff to dip into some yummy stuff, and sprinkle more yummy stuff on top. Here’s a little more detail.

Semi-sweet Chocolate Covered Pretzel Sticks (top right)

Ingredients:

  • Pretzel sticks
  • Semi sweet chocolate chips, with a TBSP shortening added
  • Festive sprinkles

Instructions:

  • Place chocolate chips in a double boiler or melt in the microwave.
  • Dip pretzel sticks into the chocolate, covering 2/3 of the sticks.
  • Sprinkle with sprinkles.
  • Set on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
  • Place in the freezer until hardened.

White Chocolate Covered Pretzel Sticks (top left)

Ingredients:

  • Pretzel sticks
  • White candy coating (in the balking aisle)
  • Festive sprinkles

Instructions:

  • Place candy bark in a double boiler or melt in the microwave.
  • Dip pretzel sticks into the candy, covering 2/3 of the sticks.
  • Sprinkle with sprinkles.
  • Set on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
  • Place in the freezer until hardened.

Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzels (middle left)

Ingredients:

  • Those really yummy peanut butter filled pretzel nuggets
  • Semi- sweet chocolate chips, with a TBS shortening added.
  • Festive sprinkles

Instructions:

  • Place chocolate chips in a double boiler or melt in the microwave.
  • Dip pretzel nuggets into the chocolate, covering all of the nuggets.
  • Sprinkle with sprinkles.
  • Remove with fork, set on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
  • Place in the freezer until hardened.

Almond Caramel Pretzel Sticks (bottom left)

Ingredients:

  • Pretzel sticks
  • Caramel melting chips (get these in the baking aisle or with the caramel apple stuff)
  • Slivered almonds, crushed

Instructions:

  • Place caramel chips in a double boiler or melt in the microwave.
  • Dip pretzel sticks into the caramel, covering 2/3 of the sticks.
  • Sprinkle with almonds.
  • Set on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
  • Place in the freezer until hardened.

Christmas Peppermint Oreos (bottom right)

Ingredients:

  • Peppermint Oreos (regular will work)
  • White candy coating (in the balking aisle)
  • Festive sprinkles

Instructions:

  • Place candy bark in a double boiler or melt in the microwave.
  • Dip Oreos into the candy, covering 40-50% of the cookies.
  • Sprinkle with sprinkles.
  • Set on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
  • Place in the freezer until hardened.

If you don’t have any of these ingredients, just take anything you have, cover it with melted whatever, and sprinkle it with something pretty! Do you have any treats you like to make?
