Expressing the Autumn of the Heart

I have never created a piece of art that I was pleased with. I’ve always been very intimidated by starting a project unless I had a perfect picture of the finished product in my mind, and the plans charted out. I was concerned with the aesthetics, and I didn’t understand the process of personal expression.

But I think I got it on this one. The prompt at Wrapped Emotions is Legal Graffiti. Melody describes it as:

**can you see the Wrapped Emotions button and quote? Somehow, it is getting excluded on my page.**

Wrapped Emotions button
This week let loose…get edgy with your style…free your spirit…absolutely no fear. We had enough of that last week. This prompt is not associated with any tangible or figurative wrapper. I simply want you to experience the fun of creating. This week we’re working to feel the emotion of JOY. Not necessarily expressing the actual word or symbolism of joy in your art…you can celebrate shoe polish if you choose. But enJOY the process. Let’s create our own graffiti.

And I did. I have been thinking about Autumn lately, and what it means for my heart, as well as nature. I’d like to explain the symbolism that came out, but I thought I’d do a little experiment first. I’d like to see what this piece communicates to you, then I’ll update with my thoughts.

Visit Wrapped Emotions to join in on the fun, or see others’ projects.

I don’t know what it is in your artwork, but I can sense the process of transformation happening in it. I just want to stare, and stare, and stare! I think I’m trying to soak it it!

Your words clearly point to the transformation of the earth and self during this season. The colors also speak autumn. I see the hand, which could also represent a changing leaf by its shape. Maybe the blue, being so different and crisp against the other blended colors represents Christ and renewal in spirit through him.

Whatever your symbolism, it’s a beautiful creation and clearly full of joy. How wonderful that you are truly pleased with your piece or art. :)

That’s so beautiful! Now I don’t want to post mine! :)

Seriously, you did a wonderful job. To me, it speaks of how God transforms our lives, just as He transforms the seasons. We have different stages in our lives as Christians (kind of like that Chris Tomlin song, and God walks us through them all.
