Fitness Friday: A Video Tip

I have been having a great time working out with my WiiFit! I am continuing to do the Super Hula Hoop everyday, because it works my abs like crazy! I also loved doing step aerobics when I used to go to the gym. I like the Advanced Step on the Wii, but I felt like it wasn’t getting my heart rate going like I want. So I usually do two sessions in a row, and I also use arm motions and weights. Here is a video tip about how I get my heart pumping.

I learned a few things by watching this video: I’m a dork, and I’ll never say oomph on camera again… NEVER! Anyway, having fun watching me make a fool of myself!

For right now, my routine is to do the 6 min Hula Hoop, then Aerobics exercises, a few Strength Training Exercises, and then a Balance Game. I’d like to start doing Yoga at night, since it relaxes me.

  1. That was great! Why didn’t I think of using arm motions…? Sometimes I jokingly do what the Miis do but talk about dorky! lol And clapping isn’t really effective. But I love the step aerobics! And I have felt like it wasn’t going fast enough or getting my heart rate up enough so I’m definitely going to try this today!

  2. I LOVE the step aerobics and will wait about another week to add weights. So excited to be a part of Wii Fit Mommies! BTW my kids laugh at me b/c I do the knee bending bounce right before starting the step… It’s what the Miis do! Glad to see I’m not the only one. 😉

Great video! The step is one of my favorite Wii Fit exercises, but it’s starting to get easier. Thanks for showing me a way to make it more challenging!

  4. Great idea!! And great video 😉

I have to say, my kids would be all over you though, because in my house, we don’t even turn on the Wii with out straps on our wrists 😉 LOL!!

I love it and I love you!

    You’re awesome!

  6. Awesome idea!

  7. Sarah you are incredible! You don’t look nervous…you are calm and collected…I didn’t hear an oomph… you shouldn’t point those things out 🙂

In hearing you talk about your routine it occurs to me that I don’t have a “routine” and maybe I should? You and Julie will have to coach me!!

  8. Oh…and I LOVE your new design. It is beautiful and peaceful. You are so good!

  9. I am very impressed at your willingness to be so vulnerable and show yourself doing this for the whole wide world to see! I don’t even like for my KIDS to see me doing the wii fit! I like to do the Free Step for thirty minutes, and I switch off every one hundred steps with my lead leg. It does get your heart rate up and you can watch tv while you do it.

  10. Well I tried it today with the arm motions and it was SO much more effective and nice to have the added challenge of trying to keep my arms and feet in rhythm! Thanks so much for the vlog!

I am so hugely impressed with you. What a great idea! I’m never going to get that song out of my head now. I like to import Mii’s so I have famous people the audience ha ha ha!

  12. Musings of a Housewife says:

You’re a brave lady! LOL! That’s great. Now I want a Wii Fit. HMPH.

  13. Coma Girl says:

    I’m tired just watching you!

You are my hero. Honestly! I won the flip camera from the twitter party last night, and you have given me GREAT inspiration for using it as soon as I get it. This video was incredibly helpful!

  15. Yay Stacey! Congrats on your win! I am hooked on Wii Fit, AND I’m hooked on Vlogging. I am so thankful to NewBaby, for starting me.

  16. Classic MaMa says:

Our Wii is coming on Wednesday. It’s on the UPS truck right now. We are looking for inexpensive WiiFits. Looks like we won’t be getting one until mid or late Jan. Until then, I’ll have to do a lot of Wii boxing to catch up. 🙂

  17. Lisa @ Stop and Smell the Chocolates says:

Good job! Still trying to convince hubby to get Wii Fit, but in the meantime I should just work out with the sports training programs, especially the boxing.
