Fitness Friday: Monumental Week

It’s a good thing I don’t take myself too seriously.

So I sent Wii Fit Mommies’ press release to our local paper, and a reporter called me to get the story. Cool. Then, the photographer called to see if he could come to my house and get a photo. Cool…sort of. He said he wanted an interesting shot with limbs extended, so I thought yoga would be the best. A couple of the ones I knew I looked good doing, he said weren’t visually interesting enough, so I finally ended up doing the triangle pose. When I first saw the photo online, I kinda felt like Miley Sirus after her shoot with Annie Liebowitz. I thought, “Oh my goodness I can’t believe I actually did that on film!”

Then I started getting comments from people, saying,

“Wow, you won’t see me in that pose”
” Look at your flat stomach.”
” I can’t touch my toes anymore, good job!”

And then I realized that although it’s not the most flattering photo of me, I kinda rock! If anything I’ve got guts, and I’m willing to put myself out there. That’s the whole mission behind Real Life: to show that I’m not perfect, and to share the process of life with others, hoping they can relate.

On another note, I got me meet Julie the other day, as she came to my town to shoot a segment for my local TV show. I think she is actually the first Blogger friend I’ve met in person, and it was like we’ve known each other for years.

All in all, there are lots of exciting things on the horizon, and I am so thrilled to be sharing this fitness experience with the Wii Fit Mommies!

Oh, yeah! I’ve lost 4 pounds already! The biggest changes I can feel are:

  • my posture is better
  • stomach and obliques (love handles) seem slimmer, as they don’t hang over my waistband as much.

The things I’d like to challenge myself to do:

  • Do more strength training exercises
  • Be more consistent with the routine

What about you? Leave a comment telling about your fitness routine, or a gutsy thing you’ve done that makes you ‘rock.’

    Sarah –

What is that second picture in the article from? The one of the knee plank? It can’t be from the wii fit!!??? If it is, I sure haven’t found it!!!

  2. Yeah, I don’t know where he got that screenshot from. He didn’t know anything about the Wii or Wii Fit, so he probably just googled something. Maybe it’s from a different Wii Yoga Program.

  6. I finally got the wii fit last weekend. I’ve managed to do it 3 times this week. this week hasn’t been the best week to start since I had meetings everyday after school this week and went of caffeine and sugar. Either way I like it.

Hmm… well, I haven’t done anything actually GUTSY, but I did try the dance yoga move. Once. lol It was HARD! I also did the 10-minute hula hoop game ONCE. Not there yet. I can make it through the 6-minute though, so I’m working up to it! Great job losing four pounds!!!!
