Giving Back on Girls Night Out with Heart Of Haiti!

“Trade, not Aid”  It’s a really cool concept. Giving direct aid to devastated countries is a very important function of a blessed nation, and individuals, as well.  But we also have to have a long term vision.  What are they going to do when the crisis is deemed over and the aid stops coming?

You may have seen me talk about Macy’s Heart of Haiti online and in real life, and the long-term view is exactly what they are addressing.  Macy’s has teamed up with Fairwinds Trading and BrandAid, so that talented Hatian Artisans can sell their handmade goods on the worldwide market! Heart of HAiti Artisan

The girls at Mom it Forward and #GNO are joining Heart of Haiti this Tuesday, January 11 (9-11PM eastern) for a Twitter chat about giving back! Most of us are snowed in across the East Coast, so what else can we do!?  Snuggle up… perhaps with your snuggie (come one, we KNOW you have one), get a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, and let’s chat!

  1. Sarah – I just linked to your post. Great idea! I tried to post comments over at Mom It Forward/Heart of Haiti but something is wrong with my browser and the reCaptcha words aren’t showing for me to verify my comments. Oh well. Good cause though!!

Sarah, thanks for all you do! This is an important issue that touches me greatly. I hope to attend tonight, but either way I’ll share the GNO info on Twitter.
