Newsboys Giveaway: In the Hands of God

When I first became a Christian back in college, I was 19 years old, and had already lived through some pretty tough circumstances, many of my own making. Being a music major, a singer, I dove into Christian Music for support, encouragement, worship, and just plain fun!
I remember my roommate and I, in 1995, driving in her red Acura with the windows down, blasting the newsboys’ “Shine” at the top of the volume dial. Singing along, of course! (If you want to get into the mood, here is my Blip of the song: http://blip.fm/~5iwho)
The Newsboys’ music, in my opinion, is a wonderful mix of meaningful lyrics, British style funkiness, and energetic dance rhythms. I love their Worship songs as well.
With five gold albums, sales exceeding six million, more than 25 No.1 radio hits, and a mantle of Dove Awards and Grammy nominations, newsboys has achieved phenomenal success in its two decades together. Known for its amazing live performances and groundbreaking tours, the band continues to sell out festivals and concerts worldwide.
Newboys’ fourteenth album In the Hands of God , which features the classic newsboys pop-rock sound that has made the band’s music legendary among Christian music fans is being released this week, officially May 5! The album also includes background vocals by Michael Tait of dc Talk, (another all-time fave of mine!) who recently stepped into the role of new frontman for newsboys. ‘In The Hands Of God,’ the last album on which newsboys frontman and founder Peter Furler will sing, is an autobiographical record and a tribute to God’s divine providence over newsboys’ long-running career.

Upside and In the Hands of God are my favorite. I really like their music. I go to contemporary services at my church and there’s a full band and lots of good music and singing. I’ll have to see if they can do one of these numbers.
