Packing OCC Shoeboxes with MOPS! {Fun Video}

I went to our church’s MOPS meeting for the first time this year to participate in their Operation Christmas Child shoebox packing party! It was a breath of fresh air to see my MOPS friends again, since my kids aged out this  year.

It was a sweet time of fellowship, and knowing that we would bless children across the globe.  My dear friend Barb Kelley (who has a killer food blog at My Sister’s Kitchen) shared a devotion before we started.  She read the account of the five loaves and two fishes, which Jesus multiplied to feed 5000 men (plus women and children).  Barb equates the shoeboxes to our “lunches,” simple gifts we give to Jesus, in order for Him to multiply the blessing.

This week is National Collection Week for OCC, and I have been so privileged to be able to work with them and several other bloggers to get the word out! If you packed showboxes, and posted about it on your blog, would you link up your post here, so we can all read each other’s?

Did you know that if you make a video, and submit it to OCC “ShoeTube,” you could win a trip to distribute shoeboxes with Operation Christmas Child? Click here to learn all about it!

Here is a fun video of the party, with Barb sharing part of her devotion:

    Thank you so much for posting about this. I’m a recording artist, and Operation Christmas Child is one of my favorite things to be involved with each year. I’ve been trying do my part as an artist by letting all of my fans know how they can get involved. So I made a video about OCC and how to pack a box, and they I sent it out to my entire mailing list. I also have been promoting it as much as I can from my Facebook fan page, writing about it on Twitter, posting on my blog, and by teaming up with radio stations that play my music.
