Each year, when the grass turns green, the sun stays out longer, and the gentle breeze blows though the mountains, I get excited about one thing: GRILLING! There’s something about cooking my food outside on an open flame (even if that flame is powered by propane), that’s makes me feel alive.
Although I did go out in the snow to make these Baby Back Ribs in February, summer is when the grill gets most of it’s workout. It has some cold spots, andsometimes the igniter doesn’t work, but it serves us well, and brings the lovely friends and their families.
So are you ready for the Summer Grill-tastic here at Real Life? I would love to gather all the best recipes from my awesome blogger friends in one place, and spread the link love at the same time!
- You gather the grill recipes you’ve already written on your blog, or write some new ones. (Grilling is timeless, it doesn’t matter how old the post is!)
- You link your recipe posts right here on the Summer Grill-tastic linky.
- Link back here in your post, so others can come share their recipes.
We have some great prizes so far, and we may be adding more throughout the week! You can link as many recipes as you want, and you get an entry for each one.
DECORATE with this Willow House Abingdon Rattan Caddy (Retail Value $79.95) , from consultant Teresa Olivera. Teresa sells classic Willow House Home and Garden products, and she also founded the Society of Socialpreneurs.
This wicker caddy is perfect for carrying the silverware, wine, napkins, and other necessities out to the patio, and it looks pretty too! You could also put little vases full of flowers in the caddy and make a nice centerpiece! Check out all of Teresa’s Willow House items, and the super closeout sale!!
ENTERTAIN THE KIDS with Rock ‘N Learn Colors Shapes and Counting DVD (ages 3-5). (Retail value $19.99) We’d all love for the kids to play outside indefinitely, but if they need just a little time resting at the cookout, this 45 minute DVD will do the trick. Then they can be back in the great outdoors after some air condition time. Lisa from Mommyality.com offered this prize for the little ones at the barbecue!
COOK it! You will need some killer recipes as you fire up the grill, so I’m throwing in Bobby’s Flay’s “GRILL IT” in hardback! I’ve always loved Bobby’s delicious recipes and down to earth demeanor, and you can whip up some great grillin’ food with this prize.
And lastly, if your house is clean before your big cookout, it’s bound to need some TLC after the friends (and their kids) leave! Or if you’re like me, you scramble hours before the guests arrive to throw everything in the closet. I’m really just saying that to make you feel better…ahem. So I am giving you Heather Solos new book Home Ec 101: Skills for Everyday Living. This book is not only informational, but Heather makes it fun to read. My full review will be out next week.
