We LOVE this book - I saw it recommended in January and we decided to give it a shot. My 5yo thought it was really cool to work on reading, while big bro & sis were at school ... and it astounded me how well he's doing. He is eager to do the lessons, sometimes getting through 2 or 3 at one sitting and when I tell him it's reading time, he races to get his book. I've recommended this to a ton of friends and family - I'm so glad we tried it.

Both of my children now (24 and 30 - yikes) were reading at the age of 3. I used a program called "Mister Light" by a company Grolier who also sold encyclopedias. I taught both of them using that program. Funny how the different personalities of your children gravitate to what becomes a passion. My son in 6th grade was reading at a sophomore college reading level and to this day has one if not two books with him he's reading. My daughter read well, was in the "Who's Who of High School Students" graduated with a 4.2 gpa from High School, but never found that passion to read, only did it if she had too. If you can find "Mister Light" on Ebay or come across one at a garage sale, it's a Super teaching tool.

I bought this book but never ended up using it - my daughter's reading ability took off on her own, I couldn't believe it. She's in 1st grade and reads at a 3rd grade level. And she just loves reading :)
