We had a really fun Super Bowl Party this year! Some long-time friends, and some new ones, came over to watch the game projected on the wall, 9′ x 6′. Of course, the highlight of the night for me was the food and fellowship.
I thought I’d share my recipe for the best Guacamole ever.
Mix these ingredients together for the perfect guacamole. Remember to watch the video for tips on cutting avacados, using garlic, and cutting cilantro.
- 4 avacados
- 3 roma tomatoes
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 1/4 cup of diced onion
- dash of hot sauce
- salt and pepper to taste
- cilantro to taste (optional)
We also made our famous sweet potato fries, guest posted at My Wooden Spoon

Yum! Guacamole!! Sadly, I’m the only one in my family who will eat it. Ever eat a whole bowl by yourself? It’s not pretty! And not a good way to lose baby weight, either.

I don’t know if you mentioned this or not, but did you know that you can keep it from changing color if you leave the avocado pit in the dip? That way you can make it ahead of time and leave it in the fridge without it getting yucky.
Also, here we use avocadoes sliced up on our tacos…. yummy!

So fun to see you on here. I am going to start doing more vlogging since the couple I did were fun and quick.
I am mourning the fact that we met on the last night. I would have loved hanging with you all weekend.

Add a little lemon juice and cover with saran wrap to keep the guac from turning brown. When you cover it, make sure the wrap is in contact with the whole surface of your dip. It’s the open air that causes the discoloration.

Haven’t tried the seed trick but Lessa’s tip definitely works. I LOVE guacamole. And my husband is so funny – he always says he doesn’t like it, then I make it and he wolfs it down
Maybe it’s just my recipe lol
It sucks not being able to participate in the Super Bowl madness when you live overseas. When the game starts at 2am our time, it’s just rough, especially if you’re trying to go to work the next day and have to get up just when it’s going off lol

Thanks for sharing this recipe. I can’t wait to make my own version. Your post is just in time because we are going to have friends over this weekend. I can’t wait.

I haven’t tried putting tomatoes in my guacamole before, I will remember that for next time =)

I love guacamole! So healthy… And I love saying it : ) Have you heard the tip about leaving the pit in the dip until you’re ready to serve it? This keeps the avocadoes fresh and green. Thanks to my step-mom for this hint!

Sigh. I wish I weren’t allergic to avocado. Gives me horrible hives and swells my esophagus (That’s really unpleasant sensation–like you’ve eating so much there’s food all the way to the top of your throat. ick.). But I love guacamole! Life is not fair. Not at all. Enjoy some for me, too.
