Thinking About Some Awesome Bloggers!

Ever since I started this blogging journey, I have been amazed at how many awesome women I have “met.” (I only say women because the awesome men whose blogs I read, I knew before and are my and my husband’s friends.) I have been following one incredible woman’s blog since I started and have learned so much from her. That is why I was even more amazed when Melody at Slurping Life (because life’s too yummy to sip-love that) awarded me this:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

To me, this is a testament to the Lord, as I have prayed from the start that He would use this blog to affect people as He sees fit, while he is teaching me and molding me into who He wants me to be. It means so much when someone you admire says, “Hey, you’re going in the right direction.” Thanks, Melody.

Now, I get to give the Thinking Blogger award to five bloggers who make me think. I hate to give just five, since I love so many different styles and ranges of content, but I’ll narrow it down since I have to.

  • Coma Girl sees the humor in just about everything, from going on vacation with her “whole” family in a beach house on the Jersey shore, to the challenges of living in a blended family, to why she’s eating ice cream for dinner. She always helps me step back, get a new perspective, and laugh.
  • Husband and wife team Johnny and Helen are truly passionate about the Lord. I’m always inspired to serve God more whole-heartedly when I read their writing. They are also incredibly transparent, and I appreciate them allowing me to learn more of Jesus alongside them.
  • I have just recently found Melodye at Morning Song and I am so blessed by her precious heart! How she finds joy in things like dancing in the rain and the family table. I regularly get teary as she pours out her heart in her journey to train up her children.
  • Ben at Ben’s Soapbox is just some guy who married my friend Heather. He’s kind of funny, so I put him on the list. Just kidding, really, I am amazed by his depth of thinking, especially in the Christian Living category, taking on subjects such as the Nature of Truth and Embracing the Pig Sty. You MUST read his Certified Marriage Advice (poor, poor Heather!), since he is a pastor and all.

These are just a few of the blogs I visit often, you will be blessed if you visit them, too.

Thanks for the incredible comment Sarah. This blog thing for us started as a way to keep in touch with our old college friends and encourage each other in the Lord. What is has become is an outlet and a challenge to daily continue our walk with the Lord to not only be encouraged by our friends, but to be an encouragement.
I think it is funny that in this day and age, I have learned more about you through reading your post then I probably ever would have living in the same small community and even attending the same church.
The Bible does say that what the enemy intends for harm, God will turn it to his good. I am so amazed to see how much good is coming out of a place that also produces some not so great stuff too.

Thank you for the kind words. This is a first, I have never been awarded something like this… So I will make my acceptance speech short:)

What do we do now? Do we get to put the thinking blogger award on our site. Help me out Sarah, I’m a little lost here now.

Helen, that is so true that God can use anything for good, even the internet!

Yes, Johnny, you just copy the picture (rightclick>save as) then put it on your sidebar. You can give the award to anyone if you like.

Thanks, Sarah! I feel like I won the lottery or something!

Now to pass on the award to someone…

If any of you bloggers would like to campaign for the award, I accept donations and gifts of any kind. I’m not saying sending me a gift will guarantee you the winning spot, but a little grease for the skids might help me remember you before someone else.

    Just a hint.
