I am so excited to have Jendi, from Simple Vlogging Tips as guest blogger today! I have been following Jendi for years, and absolutely love her! She has taught me a lot about vlogging, as I’ve watched her vlogs, read Simple Vlogging Tips, and heard her speak at places like Blissdom ’10.
Have you thought about Vlogging and Video, but feeling intimidated to try? That’s where Jendi comes in! Jendi is presenting a Webinar on Monday, May 24 at 9:00 PM– all about using video with your blog or business! The Webinar is only $1 to attend!
Here is a little bit from Jendi, and a video too. You have to watch, because she is just so cute (and knowledgable)!
My first blogging conference was Real Life Sarah’s first conference too. As I nervously walked through the door – there she was, dragging her luggage behind her. I knew exactly who she was. I knew what she would sound like, how she would tilt her head, and even had an idea of what she would be wearing. How did I know all that? I watched her
Here are some things I learned about vlogging from watching Sarah’s videos:
1. Video builds a connection with online friends much faster than writing. Whenever I read Sarah’s posts or tweets I hear her voice and see her smile.
2. It’s good to be real and genuine. It’s ok if you’re not perfect on camera.
3. It’s fun to collaborate with other vloggers.
4. Webcams are good things!
5. Have fun making the video and your watchers will have fun watching it.
Thank you Sarah, for the big hug you gave me when we first met and all the fun times we’ve had online and off since then!
Jendi looked for ways to improve her vlogging when she started making videos for online in 2008. There were many sites with complicated information, but none with simple tips for those just starting. She launched simplevloggingtips.com to help fill the gap and to encourage other moms to push record and just vlog it. Follow her on twitter @jendisjournal.
So after you sign up for Jendi’s Vlogging Webinar, Come back and link a post from your blog! We do this every Monday (or Tuesday if I’m late), and then we can read, bookmark, share and promote each other’s posts!
If you link up your post, try to Tweet at least one other post with the hashtag #yourblog, and link back here so others can join in! The more the merrier!
